Nottingham Alabaster Fragment of the Coronation of the Virgin, English Early 15th Century
A finely carved alabaster fragment depicting the Coronation of the Virgin, showing God the Father holding a triple crown above the head of the Madonna. The figures are rendered with characteristic Nottingham School traitsrounded facial features, deeply incised drapery, and a compact vertical composition. Surviving traces of original pigment remain in recesses. Mounted for display.
